What Is a Pillowtop Mattress?

A pillowtop mattress adds a visibly cushioned comfort section above the main mattress body. The design can feel plush, but the pillowtop material and support core matter more than the label alone.

Pillowtop does not specify the material

The top can contain latex, wool, memory foam, polyfoam or combinations. Two pillowtop mattresses can therefore feel very different.
